Some predictions about Google:

1.Google will try to unify its application and transform them into a big social network. The Maka-Maka project (or Google’s activity stream) will enhance the already existing profiles. If Google doesn’t understand that your Gmail contacts aren’t necessarily your friends, we’ll see a huge privacy backslash.

2. Google should finally go beyond indexing text and start to use image analysis and speech recognition in Google Image Search and Google Video. The NevenVision acquisition should produce visible results in the image search engine and we could see better results for famous people or the option to find similar images.

3. Google won’t give up on universal search, but we’ll see a different interface that separates standard search results from OneBoxes and other additions. Google’s snippets will become smarter and they could include information about authors, locations, concepts.

Asus Eee PC has been centre of attraction. But it seems the company is having some difficult keeping up with the unexpected surge in demand, with over a million units expected to ship in the first quarter of 2008.

Asus expects to sell 5 million of the units next year. That will put the device as one of the biggest sources of Asustek revenue.

Facebook allows all users to find you in the search results. If you want to keep things private, you can configure your privacy settings to narrow the amount of users that can find you when searching with Facebook.

4 Use the Which Facebook users can find me in search? dropdown to select the desired value. The choices are Everyone, All my networks and all my friends, Some of my networks and all my friends and Only my friends.

Bir süredir Teknoisti güncellemiyordum. Daha doğrusu güncelleyemiyordum. Bu durumun birinci nedeni Teknoist’i bir hosting firmasının sunduğu ücretsiz paket üzerinde host ettiğimden bu paketin sunduğu MYSQL kotasının dolması, dolayısıyla yeni bir yazı girmeye imkan vermemesiydi. İkinci neden ise her zaman geçerli bir bahane olan “zamansızlık”tı.

Şimdi blogu başka bir host üzerine taşıdım. XML yedek alırken bir çok yorum ve post malesef kayboldu. Google cachden bir iki tane yazıyı kurtararak tekrar bloga girdim. Diğer postları da ilerleyen zamanlarda belki aktarırım.

Gelelim ağızdaki baklaya! Aslında bu yazıyı yazmamın nedeni bu blogu RSS ile takip eden yüz civarı okura bir nevi veda etmek. Çünkü Teknoist bu girdiden sonra biraz değişecek. En basitinden dil İngilizce olacak. Neyseki blogu artık takip etmeyecekler için unsubscribe butonu tüm rss okuyucuların menülerindeki asil seçeneklerde gizli.
